if John's solution does not give the following when you click on a document link (when i click on a link to a Word or PDF document in IE11, i get a choice to either Run, Save or Cancel in a window at the bottom of the screen):ie11 downloadif you don't see this, i would suggest uninstalling & reinstalling ie11.

1. In your Internet Explorer browser, proceed to tools
2. Then click on Internet Options
3. In the "General" tab in the "Browsing History" section, click "delete".
4. Ensure the box “Preserve Favorites website data” is UNTICKED and all other boxes ARE TICKED in this screen and click on "delete"
5. Click "OK" to close the menu

Run IE >> Manage Add-ons >> Enable the Adobe PDF browser add-on then test again.
