Incoming emails not showing up in the inbox folder Microsoft Outlook 2010

Hi there,
My friend is having an issue with Microsoft Outlook 2010 two weeks ago. All emails she got are not showing up in her inbox folder, but she can still see the desktop popup alert and there a number beside the inbox folder saying how many emails are unread, but when she clicks it, it shows nothing. The only way she can read the email is to restart the Outlook, but all the new emails stay for 10 minutes and then they will disappear.
The following is the message she got two weeks ago, the MS link is a 404 page, so I`m hoping you guys can offer a hand!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That means 2 things either his PST file is corrupted or he has two PST data files and the email are not being delivered to the primary one.
Here is a work around.

1- Create a new outlook profile.
2- Add the email account, it will automatically create the PST file.
3- Once you've done it open outlook and you will be receiving all your emails normally.

Hi Hemil!
Thank you for your fast reply!

I checked the data file in the folder, and there are 3  OST files ( the exchange is using OST instead of PST for our case). Each OST file has a different name, is this the cause? The outlook folder can only allow one data table?

If we add a new profile, we still need those old OSTs, (maybe import them), that means we will have 4 OST, Will that have the similar issue as well? And it will take us one week to add a new user as we don`t have permission to add new people and our sysadmin can`t solve this issue.

Thank you again for your fast help, I searched that error message online everywhere and posted it on MS community, only you get us a clear clue!

Best regards!

OST files are Offline files. Once you have created a new profile you will be getting  all your emails back automatically.
But just create a new profile, don't delete the current one in case you need to rollback.

Your friend needs to contact her MS Exchange administrator as the error indicated a problem in her mailbox at Exchange server side.

@Jackie Man

Thanks for your reply Jackie!

Can you be more specific on what error on the server side? What should our MS Exchange admin do? He checked it last week, but he still has no clue what to do. Any actionable solution will be appreciated.

Right now, we are requesting to add a new user profile to this account, hoping it will work,(but this`s gonna take a week based on our efficiency)

Thanks again for your reply
Have a good one!

Hi Leo,

Do you have access from the webmail? Like webmail.myemail.com?
Also, did you tried creating the new profile into your outlook? I seen this problem many times and creating a new profile solves it.

The only way she can read the email is to restart the Outlook, but all the new emails stay for 10 minutes and then they will disappear.
This comment give me a clue that you might be experience file corruption.

Now this part has to be with exchange

2:40:08                   [8004010F-501-0-1710]
2:40:08                   The client operation failed.
2:40:08                   Microsoft Exchange Information Store

That means the mailbox database either is not being mounted or have issues.
Do you have your own exchange or hosted exchange?

Cheers,
