If you cannot run a new cable (the only correct way to do this), find the end coming from the rear of the card to the front near the starter.

Gamble. Cut the cable and splice a new piece on with a very heavy duty copper connector and big crimpers.

You probably want to get a local mechanic do to this for you. The theory is that the ends are bad and the through cable is good.

A knowledgeable mechanic may be able to route a completely new cable for you more readily then you are thinking.
Really depends on how the present cable is routed.  If it is external (which I doubt) you'd tie a new cable alongside the old one.  That'd be the easiest way.

If it is internal you'd just follow the internal cable inside the car.  You'd probably have to lift carpet to get access.  It'd be better to replace the old cable as I doubt that there will be predrilled holes in your car to feed a new battery cable through.
Best solutions offered and these should do the job.
