MS Access & OneDrive

We use OneDrive for company files and we have recently added our ms access db to it. the problem with this is it creates copies of the database if someone opens it at the same time. Is there a way around this or convert it using the new Access 2016 to an online version?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No.  One Drive simply won't work with an Access database.   neither will Dropbox or other such type sites.

You need a windows server with a file share for multiple users.

and I should add, not over the internet.

Access won't work over a WAN (well very, very few - just high end point to point's).

Also, there is no such beast as "an online version" as of now. You can use other resources, like Citrix/RDS or, but that's about it.
