Assistance with Intermec PF8t barcode printer

Hi Guys,

We have an Intermec PF8t barcode printer, which has been printing fine for years, until someone tried to print a Word document to the printer yesterday.

The margins are now completely out and it only prints half the barcode.

We have a programme generating a flat file which is send to the printer with command:  "Type P001 > LPT1"
Where P001 contains the information for the label to be printed.

We've reset the printer back to factory default, switched-off a couple of times, but the margins are still lost.

I've downloaded the tool "Intermec Print Set 4", but cannot find an option to set the margins.

Any help will be appreciated,

Hello,

you mean from the same computer?
As a word document can not be the only problem, the user who printed the document may have changed the default printer settings / margins on this machine. So - as long as you know the correct setting - , you should be able to set them back...

As printer settings are handled either by the printer or the OS, a reset of the printer doesn't necessarily mean, that the windows settings are reverted. So the printer may have default settings, but these settings may overwritten by settings of the OS.

Also not just the margins may be the issue, but also the paper size.

The windows settings for printers are stored in

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers...
HKCU\Printers...
