get rid of onmicrosoft.com at o365 SharePoint and Skype

Hi

The customers are happily using o365 email and there is no problem. How ever, what can we do so that at the sharePoint address or at the Skype Meeting link the onmicrosoft.com address wouldn't appear at all? They want to see only their own domain name there.

Further more, at one of our customers the initial o365 domain name (xxx.onmicrosoft.com) has a spelling error (should be xxy.onmicrosoft.com) and they don't like that since it shows up for example at Skype Meeting link.

This a a cosmetic problem.

What can we do?

You should be able to fix the skype meeting url

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3011453/url-for-meetings-in-skype-for-business-online-doesn-t-use-the-custom-d

However you are stuck with the onmicrosoft for sharepoint and the misspelled one.

You can’t rename the onmicrosoft domain after sign-up. For example, if the initial domain you chose was fourthcoffee.onmicrosoft.com, you can’t change it to be fabrikam.onmicrosoft.com. To use a different onmicrosoft.com domain, you’d have to start a new subscription with Office 365.

have you added your owncustomer domain name in the Office365 portal. if yes then make it primary.. you can remove the default MS domain from there.

HI

Yes, it is there. I think we have apx. 100 companies for which we have created o365 tenant but not really focused on Skype or Share Point on that.

What would happen in we remove the MS Domain and would it really help to the problem we have?
