You need to specify your make and model of computer so we can recommend games for you.  Also make and model of graphics card in this machine.

For example you might not have enough grunt to play some games so we can determine what your machine can do.

I would also recommend getting a Steam account and signing up for gog.com as well.  You can buy a wide range of games from them as well.

Humble Bundle is a fantastic service.  In addition to the subscription service, you can simply sign up for their email newsletter, and they often have games available for free.  Typically, they provide a key that will work on Steam.

Additionally, there is www.gog.com, Good Old Games.  It has a great selection, many of which are older games, however they are selling newer games now.  One bright spot of GOG is that they somehow find a way to make many of those older games compatible with newer systems.

Of course, there is always Steam, which many of the older services sell Keys for, in the first place.  You can purchase games directly from Steam, as well.
