Task Manager without Headings

Hi Everyone,

When I launch Task Manager it comes up without any headings (Tabs) like 'Applications', 'Services', 'Processes' etc... not even a 'Close' button so I can close it!!  See attached screen shot.  Never seen this before.  Windows 10 Professional. The Task Manager

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

create a new user account as Administrator, switch into it and verify the status.
if it was okay then copy all your old user data onto new user.

Open a command prompt as admin and type:
SFC /SCANNOW
Hit Enter

When finished, make sure you are connected to the internet and type:
DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Hit Enter.

if none of the above fixed the problem then try  Windows 10  Repair Install with an In-place Upgrade.
You will not lose any data files or Apps if you follow the Instruction.
Go to the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from this link:

Data loss can hit a business in any number of ways. In reality, companies should expect to lose data at some point. The challenge is having a plan to recover from such an event.

Please read this link from Microsoft support about that Issue and suggested Workaround :

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/193050/task-manager-menu-bar-and-tabs-are-not-visible

To work around this behavior, perform the following steps:

1.Click Start, and then click Run.
2.Type taskmgr.exe.
3.Hold down CTRL+ALT+SHIFT at the same time, and while holding them down press ENTER.

Tom Cieslick's solution worked like a charm.  However I'm keeping all the other suggestions, for "you never know" situations.

And my suggestion was hard to understand, I guess?

McKnife,

My apologies.  I completely missed it.  I was scrolling from the bottom and my attention was attracted by the next solution.  You should get credit for this too.  Perhaps they can fix this.  My mistake,
