VMware Workspace One and Horizon

Hi Experts,

I have a company that wants to meet with me for a position and they are saying they use both of these products.  I left off with Vsphere 5.1 they are aware of this but I have completed training for 5.5 and 6.

When I google I have located training for Horizon and am familiar with it and think that is what they are using but Workspace One looks like almost the same thing, are they?  Do they work together?

I am not looking to be a expert prior to this interview but to fill in the gaps of where my experienced stopped and what they need, I wanted to understand these two products and I'm confused on what I am finding.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Karen

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Horizon View is VMware's VDI platform which integrates with VMware vSphere - and can be used "as is".

VMware Workspace One - can be used with Horizon View VDI or Standalone to manage secure access, to cloud, mobile, web, apps on any device, e.g. laptop, smart phone etc

VMware Workspace One - It's like the cherry on top of the cake... the cake being Horizon View/VMware vSphere.

That would be great thank you I will look that up - so you have to have horizon to use workspace right?

You could use VMware Workspace One without VDI. (Horizon  View), I would recommend try a Hands On Lab. (for free), and if you spend a man day, reading all the docs at VMware, you'll have a good grounding of what it does.
