I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Not sure whether you previously had this question.

There are several writeups on setting openldap as a proxy for multiple providers/LDAP organizations.

One openldap proxy sends/forwards requests to openldap proxy with info realm, server list => applicable LDAP source.

The middle part deals with based on he realm of the request from the first/customer facing proxy realm, username, password
The middle using realm determines to which LDAP servers this request needs to be proxied.

A simpler way to implement authentication/authorization from multiple vendors is to use radius type of interactions.
Freeradius. It might provide a frame of reference a picture that one needs to replicate if LDAP to LDAP queries are needed, required.
