Google Analytics for Self-Hosted Video

I have installed the Google Analytics UA tracking code on my site about three months ago and on Thursday put up a self-hosted video (e.g. not through YouTube, but rather in the file structure of the site).

Do I need to do anything (in Google Analytics) to get the statistics of how many people watched the video and for how long?

Thanks for your help.

Check out GTM (Google Tag Manager), which is a container for GA tags.

With GTM, you can fire events like when a person first visits your page... when they start the video... how long they watch... when they leave your page...

Look at GTM events for this.
