Vssadmin list writers

Any writers showing error? If so, which writer?
gadsadAuthor Commented:
there are no errors reported. All writers are OK with no errors

Trigger this command and see if you have old snapshots? "vssadmin list shadows"

You many need to delete all the old snapshots (if found) - "vssadmin delete shadows /all"

Try attempting the backup and see if it goes fine? if the issue still persists, follow the steps;

cd /d %windir%\system32
net stop vss
net stop swprv
regsvr32 /s ole32.dll
regsvr32 /s oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 /s vss_ps.dll
vssvc /register
regsvr32 /s /i swprv.dll
regsvr32 /s /i eventcls.dll
regsvr32 /s es.dll
regsvr32 /s stdprov.dll
regsvr32 /s vssui.dll
regsvr32 /s msxml.dll
regsvr32 /s msxml3.dll
regsvr32 /s msxml4.dll
vssvc /register
net start swprv
net start vss

Copy all the commands in notepad, save it as vss.bat, run the bat as administrator (elevated command prompt).
