Windows search

When opening a file explorer in Windows 7, there is a search bar on the top right corner. For some reason, this search function stops working today. I know the files contain what I search for are in the folder. But it keeps coming up empty. Any ideas? thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Stops Working (error) ?  or Empty (?)  Different issues.

If empty, go to Control Panel, Indexing Options, Advanced and Rebuild the Index. Needs to probably run overnight.
