Problem with gmail

Hi, out of the blue, I have started seeing this window (Pic 1) when I look at my email account in Outlook using Windows 10.  If I click on cancel, it let's me work in there for a little while but it continues to pop up.  The weird thing is that if I access this account through the web site, I have no problem seeing my mail.  I haven't changed the settings in Outlook so don't understand what is causing the problem.  How can I fix it.?

Possibly as simple connectivity problem. Try constantly pinging pop.gmail.com as you fire up Outlook and receive email. If you have more than about 5% of packets go missing, more than a couple in a row fail, or times greater than 1000Ms, then you have a problem.

Under Windows, use PING POP.GMAIL.COM -t at a command prompt.

login into your Gmail account with internet browser (not Outlook).
Go to My account on the profile and Go to sign-in & security option
From Sign-in security click on app with account setting and Make sure Allow less secure apps is on.
Go to Outlook and click on Next to check if it is working now

Mal, sorry but don't know how to do what you are saying.  I wish I did and I could give it a try.
Ramin, I did everything you said and rebooted the PC and I'm still getting this window.  Should I go into the Outlook settings and redo them?

Update, just noticed that the receiving part of the program stopped on 12/1/17.  I can see the new mail on the website but it's not downloading to outlook.

Go to control panel/ credential manager. check if there is any credential saved for outlook, if yes, delete it.

Also had many times after I turned on Allow less secure apps is, I check back and it was off, double check that it is on

Don't give up on me guys.  I'm going to re-create the Outlook account.  Can someone tell me how to make a copy of my existing emails and put them back?

I'm a happy camper now.  When into the settings and went through the setup, put the password in and that fixed the problem.  Many thanks
