Remote desktop icon missing

After reinstalling Windows Server Admin on Windows 10 Enterprise, my Remote Desktops icon disappeared from my Taskbar. The space where the icon was is black, but I can still click on the space and run Remote Desktops.

This is the Remote Desktops with a nice user interface where each server has an icon and my account credentials are configured for each. It's called rd.windows.exe and is located in a hidden winapps folder, but I cannot run it directly from there and it has a generic icon.

I cannot uninstall it from Programs and Features, and when I attempt to install it from the Internet web page, it says it is already installed.

Any ideas?

Well, It's a fact that since you updated to a new OS the new OS doesn't know about your credentials so that is lost for a fact.

I would try this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44989
if that doesn't work you can download CCleaner install it and try to execute the Uninstall thru its tools.

I didn't reinstall the os, just the admin pack for servers.

Also, there are one from the windows store (Remote desktop services) which is a Windows10 native app. That also is a good free option.

Jose, I went to the site and downloaded an MSI that installed a file with an ".MP" extension. I don't know what to do with this.

Nobus, recreating the icon is what I want to do. I've never seen this before.  There is a blank space on my task bar that I can click and open the app. I have no idea where the icon went. This happened after a major Windows update.

Jose, I installed the remote desktop utility you suggested and it's really good.  It's not the same tool I've been trying to restore, but it's just as good and I'll use it instead of the other tool.

Note: I did a lot of searching, but never came across this tool.
