What’s the Difference between trucking at night and daylight?

As business owners, your trucks are your workhorses and your truck drivers are your heroes. Your trade won’t simply survive without them. Now with your business on the line, there are lots of critical decisions you have to make. One of them is deciding whether or not it’s best for your trucks to head off during the night or day. While driving at night poses different kinds of hazards, driving during the day also comes with many disadvantages.

Driving at night has the distinct advantage of less traffic. No Traffic Jams, ergo more miles travelled per hour.  The aim is to get the load to the destination ASAP and when the receiver is available so you want to schedule the arrival time to coincide with the receivers business hours.  For some places arriving a few hours before business hours ensures that your drivers aren't stuck in the back of the queue.  Unless it absolutely has to get there and the load time and receivers time can't be altered have the drivers wait out rush hour

Truckers prefer driving during low traffic density hours (nighttime)
