Exchange 365 Hybrid Tool Question

If we are going to run the Hybrid Tool for Office 365 Exchange, does it need to run on the Exchange Server or can it be run on a PC and create all the connections between Office 365 and the on-premises Exchange server?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It can be run from the PC, from the Exchange Admin Center - Hybrid. One condition - you should be able to connect to the Exchange on-premise from this PC.

What version of Exchange are you configuring for hybrid?

Though I suppose it can be run via the EAC on a PC, I always recommend that the HCW (hybrid configuration wizard) to be run from an Exchange server because it needs the Exchange management shell.

We are running Exchange 2010 here.   There are issues with running it on the server at this time.  Working through the issues.  Thank you for the help.
