Hi,
Im a test engineer and planning to implement automation testing in our project which uses desktop applications in .net. Basically testing scope is to cover functionalities and to see whether each button are working fine. I would like to know automation tool which can be used for functionality testing of desktop applications with win forms for a QA person with
1. Only limited coding knowledge
2. Proficient in coding

Looking forward for some expert opinions.

AutoIt https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/ might be a good resource for you.  It's fairly simple to learn (you can watch a Youtube to see some examples and the documentation is thorough) and can run applications and interact with controls on them.

It's a simple scripting language that you should be able to use to code out your QA.

what you are after is called unit testing and possibly mock data. You go through the code and then write your unit tests.  I use Telerik Just Mock for mock data
