I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

With the correct electronic interface, you can convert any analog signal to digital or any language (including C) to a signal.

Depending on which direction you're going (your question is unclear).

You require a DAC (Digital to Analog Convertor) or ADC (Analog to Digital Convertor), the write your C code to interact with the DAC or ADC registers to either effect your piano or read effects (high down/velocity/etc) from you piano.

Take a look at NAudio for sound synthesis.

Given a PC or laptop keyboard I do not see any solutions where you hit an alphanumeric key and you generate a note sound. Recommend deletion.
