Large RDM Storage Migration Issue

I have a VM that is on a 5TB datastore and had a 8TB RDM attached to it. I need to Storage vMotion the attached VMDK , config and RDMP pointer files to another datastore. The datastore I need to move to is 7TB and keep getting the error insufficient space for the RDM lun. Which is odd since this is just a pointer file from my understanding. I have tried storage vmotion each disk one by one and when I hit the RDM it always ends in the same result.

Any ideas?

There is known issue  if you are moving the file across any datastore cluster. could you please try advance settings disable DRS in the VM and then select the datastore individually for each disk  pointing to desired datastore , check if this helps.

I cannot explain this but restarting my vCenter server and trying the storage vmotion again from the web interface worked!!!
