Please how can i test a simple static route.

Hi all, please am submitting a CRQ for a simple static route via vrf
ip route vrf  (vrf name) <ip address/mask> next hop.
I know it will not be approve if I did not put a statement about testing.
Please can anyone suggest any simple testing statement for static routing?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Thanks,thanks for confirming my thinking.

And i am sorry for reply back, just been away on short holiday.
You're welcome.

Just to mention, just in case, that you can choose source address just like in global table (for the case that closest interface to destination is not in routing table of destination device):
ping vrf (vrf name) <ip address> source <source ip address>
traceroute vrf (vrf name) <ip address> source <source ip address>
