Why the printer software create multiple copies?

i have a hp printer. Only one device attached to my windows 10 computer using USB.
Why system creates multiple copies of printer driver (HP Printer copy 1, HP Printer copy 2.....) every time system restart or using different logins? How to fix this?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This typically occurs when you unplug the printer and reconnect it to a DIFFERENT USB port.

Follow the steps below.

1. Clear the print spooler

Right-click “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator“.
Type net stop spooler then press “Enter“.
Type del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q then press “Enter“.
Type net start spooler then press “Enter“.
The print queue on your Windows should now be cleared.

2. Remove the printer from Devices and Printers.

3. Open Programs and Features and remove HP Basic Software and any other HP Printer software.

4. Back to Devices and Printers, click once on any printer device, that shows the Printer Server Menu, open that, Drivers tab and now Delete any HP drivers you see and do not want and any duplicates.

Restart the computer.

Install the Printer software and now you should only have one printer.

The first thing I would do if you haven't tried it already is do a complete uninstall of that printer and a proper reinstall following the manufacturer's instructions and also making sure you have the proper Windows 10 driver for it.

Dear OP - Please ignore my previous post.

Are you sure your printer is supported by Windows 10 and can you see a driver for your printer on HP official website for Windows 10 ?
