Although I mentioned only Casper in my previous post in this thread (and it's the only one I use these days), there are many other good cloning/imaging products out there — some free, some not. Here's a post that I made earlier this year that mentions seven other products:

My 5-minute EE video Micro Tutorial shows what I use:
Cloning a Hard Drive with Casper

The video is about cloning, but Casper also does imaging. As a disclaimer, I want to emphasize that I have no affiliation with this company and no financial interest in it whatsoever. I am simply a happy user/customer. Regards, Joe

Best is in the mind of the beholder. In addition to Joe's suggestion above, we have a license for Ghost at our clients and use that to make images onto USB hard drives. Simple to recover if a hard drive is replaced.

Personally, I've been using Windows Image Backup for years,  I create Image  after a heavy Windows update or after Installing new essential programs and also keep older images for a while to make sure new Image and current System runs without any problem and it never failed.

How to Create a Windows Image Backup:

Right click on my computer >> Properties >> Action Center >> Backup and Restore >> Change settings >>  select the drive that you want to save the Image Backup >> Next >> Next >> If Schedule is on turn it to to off >>  save and exit >> Click on Backup Now.
Windows will create an Image backup for you.

How to Restore from Windows Image Backup:

Restart Windows and just before the Windows logo appears  keep tapping F8 till you reach the boot menu. If you missed, restart it again. Select Repair Your Computer and
Enter.  select "en" for English and then in next menu select Admin and type Admin Password, then go to System Recovery Options, then Select a system image.
