No other ports in switch assigned for this vlan , this is the first port I moved to this new vlan not works reverted back to old vlan works getting ip from dhcp

Is the dhcp server in the same subnet? You may need an ip helper-address command on the SVI to forward broadcasts to the dhcp server. If it's a Cisco switch see below commands<br />

laptop been moved from production to a another segment for testing purpose .but when changed vlan of other segment the laptop cannot get ip address. when reverted back to old vlan connected to network &amp;&nbsp;obtained ip.
