I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

SharePoint foundation products are free as long as you have an accompanying Windows Server Operating System that's licensed. They use MS SQL Express Edition which ia a free version of the more robust SQL Server full product.

I used your first link to the guide to install SharePoint Foundation 2013
I installed Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard (VL), SQL Server 2012 Standard x64
With SP1. .NET Framework 4.5 is already included in Windows Server 2012 R2.
When software prerequisites installation finished, it said that
“Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5: equivalent products already installed (no action taken)”
Then I started SharePoint Foundation 2013 with SP1 installation and got error:
“This product requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.”
Then I downloaded .NET Framework 4.5 installation, started it and got
1.      Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is already a part of this operating system.
You do not need to install the .NET Framework 4.5 redistributable.
2.      Same or higher version of .NET Framework 4.5 has already been installed on this computer.
Any idea what is wrong, is there workaround?

We’d all like to think our company’s data is well protected, but when you ask IT professionals they admit the data probably is not as safe as it could be.

You will already have .Net 4.6.2 on the system so not needed.
