Citrix reciever 4.9

does anyone know where the icon for the receiver 4.9 resides?  I need to reset it because it's stuck and I can't find it anywhere.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Is it confirmed to be installed on the computer? does it show in add remove programs?
It could also be just getting pushed down from the Citrix server. App publishing. I guess ensure its being published to you?

WellingtonISAuthor Commented:
Yes it's in add remove programs so I know it's there and it was working.  It's completely frozen and I'm trying not to have to reboot the machine.

If you install a program called Revo-Uninstaller - Link here.

If you go through this, does it appear to uninstall from here?
0
WellingtonISAuthor Commented:
I'm not trying to uninstall it I'm trying to reset it.
0
Michael LinkInfrastructure EngineerCommented:
I didn't suggest uninstalling it - this program scans through registry entries and program data to see if it recognizes the program is installed.

Also on another note, if you cannot start the application, then you may not have any other option but to uninstall.

Ah ok  I will try

Michael LinkInfrastructure EngineerCommented:
When you load it up, it will show icons for all the app's it recognizes are installed on the machine.

Can you confirm it is recognized here?

Its there see for yourself.

Okay - if you go to the c:\ drive of your machine and run a Find in Windows Explorer for 'SelfService.exe' once completed does this come up?
0
WellingtonISAuthor Commented:
It's only shows up as a log file not an application.  Maybe Citrix 4.9 did away with this function?
0
Michael LinkInfrastructure EngineerCommented:
Is there a specific reason you need to use 4.9 - 4.10 is out and available now?
0
WellingtonISAuthor Commented:
4.10 automatically updates and for what I need it for I need to be able to control the updates.
0
Michael LinkInfrastructure EngineerCommented:
Okay fair enough - if the file isn't there I think there are two options;

1) Find a working machine and try copy the missing files from the working machine to the non-working.
2) Remove the version you have and re-download 4.9 from here and install.

WellingtonISAuthor Commented:
Missing files?  You mean selfservice.exe?
0
Michael LinkInfrastructure EngineerCommented:
Yeah - see if you can copy that over first. If that doesn't work copy the whole directory and paste it into the location - and it will allow you to not overwrite files that are already in the location.
