Error when Connecting Data in Excel 2016

How are you trying to connect to the data?

I'm setting up a new connection, then connecting though existing connections.

Are you connecting to a cube?

Do you have any existing connection?

No, I've only set up one connection and its to another workbook.

I think that is creating the issue..could you pls  try with the new excel.

open a new excel and create a new connection there.

I did try recreating the connection a couple of times but I still got the same error massage.
I don't have access to Excel 2016 at the moment as this is on my clients PC.

Are we connecting to cube? do we have any Pivot table in there.

I'm not connecting to cube, I want to connect to a different workbook and pull the data into a template workbook I've created and I'd like this to update every time I open my template.  

This works fine in Excel 2013 but I get the below error when I try to recreate in Excel 2016 and I don't understand why.:

"Query results cannot overlap a table or XML Mapping. Please select another destination."
