Broken RJ-45 jack on Fluke Microscanner2

One of my techs must've dropped this Fluke Microscanner2 while testing a cable because the plastic housing on the case busted off the top and the right side of the connector broke the tab where it is soldered to the circuit board. It's out of warranty and this is from a kit that costs about a grand.

Does anybody know where I can find a replacement jack? We are going to try soldering it back together but it might be better to just get a whole new jack and resolder it. I figure it's worth trying as the alternative is buying a whole new set. I just don't know what exactly you call this part and so far the only place I've found sells them in large packs of 50-100 when I just need one. I miss Radio Shack!

Try this site - I think they sell in quantities less than 50.

Take great care unsoldering the jack. The board is likely two-sided and the socket will be attached to both sides.

Dbrunton, not quite, but close. I need some that have the black plastic pegs in front, the outer two metal tabs in the middle, and the 8 prongs for the jack in between the tabs. That's what is confusing about locating the part - there are a million different configs here.

There are individual parts at this hobbyist's site. They may be adaptable. There is more than one kind of jack.

Have you asked Fluke about the cost of replacing the board. You may not be the only person who has broken this.

I may reach out to Fluke if I can't find the exact part. I'm sure they'd do it for a hefty fee, which is what I am afraid of. The board is probably 95% of the cost of the product. The rest is just plastic.

Any part number, probably under the connector?

William FulksSystems Analyst & WebmasterAuthor Commented:
Shaun, not that I can tell. I'd have to completely remove it to see any part number.

We were able to solder the connector and fix it, so we're good for now. Thanks y'all!

Although I ended up not needing the part, Mr. Hurst at least pointed me to a site where I could have bought a single one so I will keep that handy for future reference.
