Always On Availability Groups (SQL Server)

Hello,
We're considering a change from SQL Cluster to a SQL Always On configuration.  Please help me with the benefits this may also bring in relation to OS and SQL Updates in the future.  As it stands now, we'd need to rebuild our cluster to update the servers OS and I'm interested to know whether Always On will provide additional benefits that allow making updates to the OS or SQL version without taking the entire system down.

Thanks,

Pawan,
Thank you.  I did also see this article earlier.  I'm also interested in how moving to the Always On will position us for future upgrades.  For example, if we're using SQL 2016 now but want to upgrade in the future, will we be able to do that on a replica server, make it the Primary, and then go on to update the other SQL servers without taking the environment down?

Thanks,
  Troy

There is also costs to Always on as well.
Secondary DB needs the same amount of disk as the Primary DB.
A share with adequate room for DB Backups.

OS should be on it's own drive.
DB's and Logs on separate drives (SAN).
