"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Maybe something like this?
Public Class frmChild

Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
        Dim client As MdiClient = Me.MdiParent.Controls.OfType(Of MdiClient).FirstOrDefault
        If Not IsNothing(client) Then
            Me.SetBounds(0, 0, client.Width - 5, client.Height - 5) ' -5 kludge to prevent scrollbars
        End If
    End Sub

End Class
