Configuration of Alternate Witness Server

I have configured the alternate witness server with the below command. I have not included the parameter of alternate witness directory so Exchange can create it at default location.

Set-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup -Identity DAG-Name -AlternateWitnessServer tl-ws.thevlab.com

The command run successfully and Excange shows alternate witness server and directory path  in powersehll.  However, Exchange has not created the directory at back-end in alternate witness server.

Is it normal behavior? or should I need to create the directory manually for alternate witness server.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What you're seeing is normal with the alternate witness share.  It isn't used unless you have to perform the datacenter switchover commands.
