Hi
Can anyone recommend some good cloud/hosted web filtering software?
We use CWS, now EoL and replaced by Cisco umbrella, which i believe is expensive.
All we need is web filtering, nothing else.
Preferably a client/agent installed communicating directly with the cloud, where rules, polices are managed.
Thanks

That's what you're looking for, it's a cloud-based proxy which you can use a PAC file within IE, chrome, firefox to force through whether people are on your network or not. It protects everything.

Oh the other great thing? It's an HTTPS proxy so, no need for any agents, everything is done via group policy so minimal admin overhead :-)

May want to consider WebTitan. The online calculator is useful, e.g.
11-25 USERS, 1 YEAR, Cloud based gives $/user/year @ $16.20
- Malware & phishing protection, URL filtering, Policy exceptions (Cloud Keys), policy creation (whitelist, Blacklist) and Reporting (50 predefined), User identification

1-50 USERS, 1 YEAR, Premise Gateway gives $/user/year @ $18.70
- Has the cloud service features, and does SSL inspection, include Antivirus protection and provide Web based User Interface ( access and manage their policies and generate reports).

In case, you are open to scale up the features, then you can check out Zscalar (a direct-to-cloud connection model) which has more can be a bit more than just Web and URL Filtering, e.g. it does Sandboxing, Cloud Firewall, CASB and DLP. These features combined to add next-gen access, user, and app control and block malicious behaviors in unknown files, gives that extra intelligence like analyze users who may be exposing you to risk, or those who are using the most bandwidth, as well as understand how your business-critical apps like Office 365 and Salesforce are being used. There different bundle pricing too, so it would be from optimal to the extensive checks if required.

Yes Cisco umbrella is based on OpenDNS for Business. The free services remain for personal use.

Besides those options mentioned, alternatively is the Umbrella professional package offering which supposedly to be lower (licensing based on no of user) for small company. I understand umbrella support roaming client using agent.
