Outlook keeps asking for password on Office365 hosted by GoDaddy

Hi ,

I have a client whose mailbox is hosted with GoDaddy (Via Office365).
When i setup the account in Outlook 2016 it accepts the password the first time but then asks for it again and again as soon as you close Outlook and it wont accept the correct password. There are no security options to configure in advanced settings , its all greyed out. I dread having to contact Go Daddy as i am not the account holder , this is being managed by another IT consultant whose hard to reach.
Any suggestions would be great

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

1.On the computer in question click control panel>Credential manager.  Remove all saved passwords from the vault if there are any present.  Try again.  If that doesn't work #2

2.  Open outlook in safe mode
Start>Run  type in   Outlook /safe  (press enter)   add the user's credentials and see if it takes.  YOu will then have to restart outlook in normal mode

Hi FOX  - i tried to install the account in a new Outlook profile and on another pc and it does the same. It does it in 2 versions of Outlook 2010 and 2016. Even in Safe mode its doing this. I have attached the two pictures. One of them is the initial auto discover message to connect to the GoDaddy server and the second one is the specific box which comes up all the time no matter how often you put in the password. Utterly frustrating!
Any more tips or do you think i have to go to GODaddy?

for the web pop put a check in the box and allow

for the credential pop up you should be entering the credentials of the user who has full access to the shared mailbox, not the credentials of the shared mailbox. Enter the email address of the user whose outlook you are working on and their password.

Hi FOX - The sharedcontacts@..... is a full blown Exchange account not a shared mailbox so the password should be accepted.
