Shared Drive, User unable to see shared files

Hi,

We have a user who is unable to see few shared files.

I have checked Sync option, Sync option is totally greyed out when clicked on manage offline files.

Not too sure what this could be.

Any golden piece of advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try a disconnecting from network and can you see them on the computer.
Are the files actually available offline ?

Please describe how the user is mapping the shared folder.

When they map a drive (NET USE) what error do you get?  Please post it.
Usman FaridService Desk AnalystAuthor Commented:
okay, would that make a difference tho.

Its a team of 5, File has been shared by User A. User. B, C, D can see the file but user E cannot see that file.

We need to see the error number in order to assist.
Usman FaridService Desk AnalystAuthor Commented:
Drive is mapped successfully, and there are other shared folders and documents in it.

A new document is added to the folder within the shared drive, but that document cannot be seen by one user, all other users can see it.
Zaheer IqbalTechnical Assurance & ImplementationCommented:
Is the file hidden ?
Usman FaridService Desk AnalystAuthor Commented:
@John Hurts, there is no error message.

User is just unable to see the shared file, a shared folder.
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
Thanks for the update. Check the server / workstation permissions by user to the folder.
Usman FaridService Desk AnalystAuthor Commented:
@zaheeriqbal, no file is not hidden because other users in team can see that file.

Only one USER is unable to see the shared file.
Zaheer IqbalTechnical Assurance & ImplementationCommented:
Is the shared drive on the server and can you as an admin see the file too ?
Zaheer IqbalTechnical Assurance & ImplementationCommented:
Can you get the user that has the issue to logon to the user that can see the files machine and see if the issue follows ?
Usman FaridService Desk AnalystAuthor Commented:
Shared drive is on the server, and admin can see the file.

Ok, will get the user to do so..
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
Only one USER is unable to see the shared file.

On that machine run TCP/IP Reset, DNS Flush, restart and test again.

Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator
Then: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Then: ipconfig /flushdns
Usman FaridService Desk AnalystAuthor Commented:
@Johnhurst, I have checked the permissions all users have same level of permissions for that folder.
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
Try the reset I suggested.

If the user has enabled offline files on that location then you can delete the database on the computer
