Bluetooth adaptor - How to use

Hi, I bought a USB Bluetooth adaptor and plugged it in to the computer (HP ENVY 15t-k200 CTO), I checked the device manager and it shows up there but I can't figure out how to use it.  When I play a song, the music comes out of the computer and not the bluetooth speaker.  How do I sync the two?
Thanks

Is the speaker paired with the Bluetooth adapter? Did you check your audio settings? Sounds like you need to set your bluetooth speaker as your default playback device (assuming that the speaker is showing up in Windows).

I don't know how to pair it with the computer.  The adapterThis came from properties for the device. is blinking a blue light and the speaker is too but look at Pic 1.

Look further in the list, it acknowledges being installed. Your problem revolves around the pairing. Did a Bluetooth icon show up in the tray (area near the clock). If so, right click on that and I think you should have an option to pair.

Side note:  There are serious issues with Bluetooth security (well, there always have been) and earlier this year it was reported that it's possible to do "drive-by" infection of devices with Bluetooth enabled.

At this time I can't recommend using Bluetooth, and imo it if is installed on a device it should be disabled.

masnrock,  You are so right.  I didn't even know to go down to the bottom to do the pairing.  Once I did that, it started playing through the speaker instantly.  THANK YOU SO MUCH.
