Excel: Need current version for Mac

I have Mac 2011, but see that the updated version is 14.7.7.

Is that pretty much current?

I use Office 365, but am in the midst of a very large download from Office 365. I may not need to run that installation, if I already have the Excel version that file contains.

Please let me know.

Thanks

It should only download and update if there are changes it wants or needs to do. Finish what you are doing and then allow Office to proceed updating.

Ok, then I will run it now that the download's complete.

The latest MS Office suite for Mac is 2016. You can use Office 365 web apps, but be aware that Excel 2011 for Mac is bit dodgy and have some incompatibilities (there were some bugs with Wxchange 2013 created document) with Excel for Windows.

I think the MAC is 2011 and Office is current. So it is already running and probably just needs to update.

I just ran the installer, and it showed the same 14.7.7 version.

Shall I delete the Excel 2011 then re-run the installer I just downloaded?

I am not married to that version and want to replace it if it restricts my access to new graphs, etc.

Yes. If Office 2011 is still there you can uninstall it after upgrading to the newer version.

Which Office 365 plan do you own?

I use the Personal version.

Does the Business Plan have many more graph features?

If it is like Office for Windows, the Personal version should be fine. MAC and Windows versions are getting ever closer in features and my own Office 2016 has more features than I need.
