Document is "secured" so I see "look up" words that I select but I can not copy and paste.

I had this question after viewing copy paste text of pdf.

Thank you. Document is "secured" so I see "look up" words that I select but I can not copy and paste.

Because I can see a repeat of the words I highlight (in the menu above); I think it is not ocr.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If there is Security applied to PDF one of the lockdowns is copy and paste.

Here is the article from Adobe.

There are two ways to remove "secured" from the PDF. They are both discussed in my answer at another EE question:
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28650060/PDF-access-permission-control-applied.html#a40706529

I use QPDF so often that I assigned it to a button in my file manager, as discussed in this other EE question:
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28590621/Why-am-I-asked-for-a-password-when-trying-to-merge-many-PDF-files-with-Adobe-Acrobat-XI-Pro-but-not-when-I-open-the-same-file-with-Adobe-Reader.html#a40531530

But it's important to know the caveat that it is your responsibility to be in license compliance, i.e., to make sure it is legal to perform the function (more details at the links above).

If you need help with either technique — printing to a PDF print driver or running QPDF — let me know and I should be able to help you through it. Regards, Joe
