Is it possible to have to different installations of the same shared Zebra label printer?

Hi Everyone,

I have a Zebra 2844 label printer installed on a workstation as  a through the network as: \\MACHINE_NAME\LABEL_SHARE_NAME.

I use this label printer to print UPS shipping labels.

Now this user also has a web-based software that could utilize the same Zebra printer but with different drivers.

Is it possible to do this with the network shared printer?

I was able to do this successfully with another user who has the same printer installed locally to his machine via USB. I used one USB port for each driver. I haven't figured out how to do this through the network.

Is it even possible?...If yes, how?

Appreciate any help!!

You should be able to do this if you set up the printer with correct drivers on the host machine and then share that out to the network with a different name

Yes, it can be done. Two different drivers will automatically be installed as separate printers. These printers can use the same port if required, so they will point to the same physical printer.

As the printer is shared, the easiest way is to install both drivers on the server.
