did you try to see the IP config using the 3rd option? you may be able to set the IP there and may be able to connect via WEB interface after that.

1. I think best way to deal with this matter is to log a case with HP. But that depends on the validity of the warranty. please check the below link to check your warranty. you need to have the Serial number of the device handy.

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home

2. If warranty available, then you can log a case with HP. simply by chatting online with an HP agent.

There seems to be a missing file - "main.bin"
0
lapatiyaCommented:
Ok, thanks,

that confirms that you don't have any .bin file to work with. there is one last option to try before download the new .bin file into to router; that's to restore Bootware from a previous backup. to do it, please follow the below steps and let me know what was the outcome,

from main menu select,
|<7> BootWare Operation Menu |

from bootware operation menu selec,

|<2> Restore Full BootWare |

By any chance if the router had a previous backup done, you will see below prompts and type 'Y' and enter,

Will you restore the Basic BootWare? [Y/N]Y
Begin to restore Normal Basic BootWare................................Done!
Will you restore the Extend BootWare? [Y/N]Y
Begin to restore Normal Extend BootWare................................Done!

if this didn't work, only way forward is to find a working .bin file. which I was unable to find with HP website since it's not available, seems the product is discontinued. no worries, please capture the initial boot up screen to see the version of the software and other information as given below,

We have somehow managed to upload a new firmware version to the router.

The issue now is we do not know how to configure the IPv4 address in CLI so that we can access the webpage.

In BootWare, we updated the Main Application file, in tftp, we sent the firmware file to the router and then it started decompressing the file.

also, since  your router had gone through a new firmware upgrade I assume it has been reset to default. if so, the default settings are,
IP - 192.168.1.1/24
user - admin
pass - admin

please check this with your browser

please check if there is an IP address available either on eth 0/0 or eth 0/1, the command is,

display ip interface ethernet 0/0

and

display ip interface ethernet 1/0

so, if there is an IP available in any of the Interface, you can use that port to connect to web configuration page

or else you can set the IP as below,

<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface ethernet 1/0
[Sysname-Ethernet1/0] ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

or

<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface ethernet 0/0
[Sysname-Ethernet0/0] ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

Hi! lapatiya,

We were able to use Microsoft Edge and Firefox to access the webpage of the router, unfortunately we could not enter as the password is incorrect. So we will need to access via console and change the password.

We spoke too soon.

How can we amend the password as we are not sure on where to navigate to amend the password.

Anonymous KHIT EngineerAuthor Commented:
Hi! lapatiya,

We found that under local user admin, we must add the CLi "service-start web"

So we were able to login to the router using admin / admin

Ok, good to hear that you could get this to work. Another person will learn from this for sure. Anyway, could you please mention here from where you downloaded the firmware file for the router, since that will help somebody else in the future. thanks
