Windows 7 PC not updating

Have a client's PC here and it's stopped updating with Windows updates.
I have checked the services and the Windows Update service is running, have stopped it and restarted it many times.

I have also tried checking for new updates which then displays the attached screenshot saying that the Windows Update cannot currently connect or the Windows Update service is not running which it is clearly running.

I have also tried WSUS but this also fails...
When trying the above options I have disabled the Anti-Virus program just in case.

This PC has been updating fine in the past but client has noticed it stop doing updates around three/four weeks ago.

I followed the suggested link from John and after completing it with also updating the Windows Update Agent as recommended then restarted the PC.  When Windows booted up again tried updating and nothing happened so I also cleared out all temp files etc... within Disk Cleanup.  Restarted the PC and Windows Updates started Configuring on shutdown and now continuing with configuring updates on start up.
Thank you for the update and I was happy to help
Windows Update Agent needs to be updated and is starting right away but You can see updates after while.
