Restoring Windows 7

Is there any way to restore a pc (Toshiba) that has been upgraded from Windows 10 back to Windows 7?  A friend has software that will not run on Windows 10 unless he purchases a $500 upgrade.  He heard that if you google the Toshiba model number you can "restore from partition."  Obviously that seems pretty incomplete but just wondering if there is an option.  The upgrade happened too long ago to roll it back.

Thank you!

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You cannot roll back after 30 days has passed as you have noted above.

You would need to get the Toshiba Windows 7 recovery media (Toshiba should supply for a small fee) or purchase a Windows 7 DVD from a reputable supplier on eBay and get Windows 7 drivers. This would be the Windows 7 option.

It may be better to bite the bullet and upgrade the software because an inevitable new computer sometime will only be Windows 10
