How to restore data from a decomisioned wintel client on TSM.
Hi everyone.
2 month ago a wintel server was decomisioned/shutted down. But today the wintel admin is asking me for a restore of a folder from that server. is there any way to restore the requested data if the client server is off?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
if the retention of that folder hasn't expired yet ... yes you can.
You need to logon as Ronin said. Should you have forgotten password for that node, you can update it from server:
upd node <yournode> password <new_password>
hope this helps

Hi max,
Yes , as Ronin said, i am logged on an active server and just change the .opt name for the decomissioned server. It should work , right?

Obviously not possible if it's an advanced Dell or HP with RAID configuration/hardware
