Public Folder Distribution list

I am trying to create a Holiday Email distribution list from my public folder contacts list. They must have change how you do this.  I am on Office365.  Can't send after the holidays....

Instead of making it in the public folders contact list why don't you create it under your Contacts folder of your inbox.

Are your users requesting their own distribution lists for their use or do these distribution lists need to be for company use as well?

They want company distribution lists. We all keep up the main database and then do mailings out of it occasionally.

I was thinking maybe I can categorize and then do a group based on the category.g

If you are in a hybrid exchange environment you can have Universal distribution groups made which will sync to O365 and be viewable in your Global adress list. If you are not in a hybrid scenario-
Your o365 admin can make groups in the O365 admin center, supply the requested email address, and add the users to the group. You and others can be given this role of creating groups in the O365 admin center.

I find it crazy that Microsoft doesn't allow us to import the 4000 names into groups.  Maybe they are trying to enourage CRM useage.  Thanks for help -- am sending my staff to Sales Force.
