I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Microsoft has all the information you need : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/sql-server/failover-clusters/high-availability-solutions-sql-server

Or technet : https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee523927(v=sql.100).aspx

Bit broad to write a page or five to answer in the forum style platform...

Most of your current series of questions can be addressed by the MIcrosoft sites : Technet, Books online (now docs)

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/sql-server/sql-server-technical-documentation  can also download from there.
