Hi Experts

Could you detail what's going in  unofficial VFP patches that are still under development
and  in official VFP tools that are still supported by the community, also?

Thanks in advance!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi Eduardo

Supported tools are VFP add-ons (builders, report listeners, barcodes and charts processing, VFP help and much more) which were developed by Microsoft in many cases and are open source now.

You may find them (or almost all of them) on the Codeplex web (http://vfpx.codeplex.com/) which is moving to GitHub these days (https://vfpx.github.io/projects/).

Additional VFP tools like FoxyPreviewer are also listed on the Git page.
ActiveVFP (http://activevfp.codeplex.com/) is also necessary to mention but I have no info about its porting to Git.

I should also mention paid  tools like XFRX report generator and FoxInCloud (which is not pure VFP add-on).

Some of the tools are very powerful and in everyday use by the FoxPro community.

I believe Olaf or other contributors could mention additional tools which are not in my mind right now.

Unofficial VFP patches are a different story... If you look at this page http://www.baiyujia.com/vfpdocuments/default.asp then you may find a list of all of them. This work is not legal from the copyright point of the view but I would guess the Chinese author knows Visual FoxPro in very fine details... All the patches are included in VFP Advanced (http://www.baiyujia.com/vfpadvanced/) which was created from the disassembled VFP 9 SP2 most probably...

Amazingly how deep the Chinese author go inside assembler code to fix bugs and improve VFP code.

Thank you for help.
