netsh question

how do i change from "static ip address" to "obtaion an ip address automatically" setting with netsh?

netsh interface ip set address "Local Area Connection" dhcp

Where "Local Area Connection" is the name of the interface that you want to affect.

If this is on a workstation, best to run TCP/IP Reset to do this.

Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator
Then: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Then: ipconfig /flushdns

Restart the computer after doing this
