How to extend default SQL Server timeout?

I am running a SQL Server Developer 14 stored procedure from my Access 2013 application.

I am getting a timeout error because the routine takes a little over a minute.

Is there a way to adjust the default timeout either from the Access 2013 application or on the SQL Server side?

You will need to set up CommandTimeout property of the SqlCommand object.

You can set the Query Timeout using below Procedure. The default is 600 seconds, or 10 minutes.

[cc lang=”sql”]
EXEC SP_CONFIGURE ‘remote query timeout’, 1800
You can also set  via  server level configuration.

Time out can also set via application  level in Connection string.
Data Source=SomeDBServer;Initial Catalog=SomeDB;Provider=SQLNCLI10.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Auto Translate=False;Connect Timeout=60;
