Installing drivers for an external DVD drive

I am trying to re-image a laptop with a DVD that has the OS but the DVD player is new and external. The laptop that still has a previous image on it and has Pointsec as the encryption software. So when I select the DVD player to run it tell me there are no drivers. How can I get the DVD drivers installed since I do not have the old password to login to the laptop?

Can you try a different USB device?   I have not heard of that encryption and if you cannot log in, I am not sure what else you can do.

You may need to get a new, blank hard drive and image that.

It seems that may have to happen. The good thing is I have another new drive and its optical  which is better than what is in there,  Thanks for the unless I can get the users password to login I will have to go that route.  I am not sure she knows it but it is worth a try.  I was just hoping I could get around it.

Thanks for the update. Without credentials, it is pretty much impossible to defeat encryption.
