Blu-ray total size from 22.5GB to 22.3GB?

I have a Verbatim 25GB 6x blu-ray disc. Before I burned anything to the disc Windows 10 said total size 22.5GB. Now after I burned 20.4GB onto the disc, Windows 10 now says total size 22.3GB.

Does this sound "normal"? First time burning a blu-ray disc successfully, always burned with CDs and DVDs and never noticed this before. Never had this happen to a CD, DVD or DVD+R DL.

Check the properties on both ends and compare the number of folders and files. If numbers are identical than everything should be fine.

Sometimes you can find a difference in size because a different brand has different size calculation. MS is calculating 1024kb=1mb, but some hardware manufactories are calculating 1000kb=1mb. Formatting and cluster size can change the total count too.

Empty disk and a disk with file system created on it show different sizes. By burning the data to b-disk you formatted the disk and created on it special file system to store the data.

Yes, it is normal. Windows reports the total size wrongly. Because you can put only 22.3GB onto 25GB blu-ray drive.
