Linux Parrot 3.10 Private Internet Access not working

Dear Experts

I m a Private Internet Access VPN user. I have another Linux laptop working fine with the VPN tunnel.

With Parrot VPN version 3.10 I m not able to get the tunnel to work. Not even OpenVPN is working.

The PIA app shows installed it is just not running.

I wonder if there is some permission I need to work here?

Please advice

Thank you

First question... Is the VPN client you are using compatible with the VPN server you are using?

Second. Is your local subnet the same as the subnet your VPN assigns?  Say your VPN assigns in 192.168 0.0 subnet your local subnet can't be the same or linux will not route over vpn...

I m using a VPN client called Private Internet Access or PIA. It works in other Ubuntu distributions.
Scott SilvaNetwork AdministratorCommented:
So you are connecting to a paid VPN...   You say it works in other distributions, but does it work in other distributions IN THE SAME LOCATION as you are trying it with this one?

As I said, if your local subnet where the equipment is located is the same as the subnet the vpn assigns to you it wont work.

No, it works in other Linux distributions not with Linux Parrot. The Client does not run after installation. Same when I tried with OpenVPN as an alternative
Scott SilvaNetwork AdministratorCommented:
PIA is a client for a specific VPN that is a paid for service.
Open VPN client is also specific to the OpenVPn server software.

So lets start over.
What are you connecting to?
Your server?  A paid VPN server?
Does the servers software require a specific client?

Did you make sure your local subnet is different then the one assigned by the VPN client?
marceloNYCMiddle-Tier AdministratorAuthor Commented:
The subnet has nothing to do with it... Is the actual client that does not run
